Julie L. Hogan Memorial Scholarship
The Julie L. Hogan Memorial Scholarship was established in 2005 by the family and friends of Julie Hogan. Julie Hogan was a student in the JVS Marketing and Management program, completing the program in 1992. She was a state and national DECA-An Association of Marketing Students competition winner in both her junior and senior years at the JVS. She attended Kent State University to study education and was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Education, posthumously, in 2004.
Selection Criteria
- Preference will be given to qualified JVS seniors from Brookside High School.
- Preference will be based on need and work ethic, not solely on grade point average.
- Applicants are available in Student Services or online.
- Selection is conducted by members of the Lorain County JVS Teachers' Association.
- Scholarship is one-year nonrenewable.
- Scholarship will be awarded at the JVS Senior Recognition ceremony.
- May be used for college, technical school, or continuing education courses.
- Selection is based on: application, transcript, letters of recommendation, letter of acceptance and interview.
