Buckeye Room Switches Up Gourmet Dining Concept for Next Year

The Buckeye Room Restaurant, operated by senior culinary arts students, is switching up the way it’s delivering its lunch service next year and it wants to give its many faithful customers some advance notice of the upcoming changes.

Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, the Buckeye Room will be offering a 3-4 course menu on Wednesday and Thursday. The anticipated opening date will be sometime in October 2016.

For a fee of $12, customers are invited to make reservations and enjoy a fabulous tasting menu, pre-determined by the chef. The seating begins at 11am and the meal will conclude at 12:30pm. Reservations are required.

This tasting menu differs from the previous year’s ala carte menu and is being guided by both state curriculum and scheduling changes at the JVS.

“There are going to be a lot of benefits to this new tasting menu structure,” stated  Culinary Arts Instructor, Timothy Michitsch. “The restaurant will be open on more dates, there will be an ever-changing menu throughout the school year, and groups or organizations can book the Buckeye Room for meetings and events.”

“It’s going to be a completely new concept that is often seen in high-end restaurants,” continued Michitsch, “but we will have even more opportunity to present gourmet dining at its finest.”
